The best thing you can do for Dolphin on macs is to use bootcamp, sadly. Apple is actively hostile to us at this point. And Catalina is NOT helping matters! So um yea, the situation on macOS isn't a high priority for us. And I've never had much luck with Wii Remotes on a mac. MoltenVK crashes for me atm, and I can only use OpenGL. ┐(´-`)┌ Dolphin is working for me on Mojave. I'm not encountering it right now, but I never was able to isolate why it was doing it, so I can't really help.

Thanks for bearing with me, and I look forward to constructive dialogue and hopefully being able to help somebody else in future. Two put a time frame on it, I would say it's around 3 months that it's been "broken", i.e when I first had issues on the old computer.

however, if someone can confirm I am safe to install official release 5.0, well, it's better than nothing, and I suppose I can install the very latest version on bootcamp.Īnyway, I just thought it made sense to report it regardless, in case for some reason it has been completely missed by the devs somehow. I don't even know if 5.0 official works on Mojave - at this stage all references to dolphin on my MacBook are gone, as I did a complete uninstall using the "find any file" app to make sure nothing was left over. I must say I am really surprised that I can't find more mention of this or that such a fundamental basic has not been noticed by the coders? I realise it is not an official release version. It really couldn't be more of a virgin machine, honestly.

With the current MacBook Pro, I haven't connected controllers at this stage (in case my sn30 pro was causing the issue previously), and I tried both disabling graphics switching and forcing the Vega 20 at all times, as well as enabling the default gfx switch mode. It's impossible that across 3 different OSES, one brand new Mac, one one year old Mac, and one 5 year old mac, that all computers are broken lol. It has no games or junk of any kind installed on it. So for one more try, I decided to install it on my 2018 iMac which is only an audio production machine. waited 15 minutes to no avail, had to force quit (I did send through the crash report), and when relaunched, there comes the initial welcome message again and all preferences gone It was just a completely fresh install on a brand spanking new machine. I didn't even adjust settings this time or point it to any folders. I opened safari, downloaded the latest development build of dolphin. It has the Vega 20, an 8 core 9880h cpu 2.3ghz, 32Gb ram.Īll I did was turn it on, set up my account. Apple delivered it with Mojave 10.14.6 curiously rather than Catalina (fine by me!). Well today, arrived my brand new MacBook Pro 15" after saving for it for precisely 18 months. I really never thought about it again because I was sure it was my computer. I completely uninstalled dolphin and did a fresh install of 5.0, and all is fine again on that machine! (except the latest versions are just better when they work and I'd love to be able to use them).

I presumed it may have been a problem with a 5 year old computer full of junk and games/steam etc, and Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6. Dolphin can not be closed without crashing, but because of that crash, it loses all preference settings, and in fact even asks the initial pop up question on each launch.

My schedule was to run the update checker once a week and install whatever the latest was.Įventually, one of the updates broke it. I then decided to try a nightly build to gain access to new features, and there was no issues for a month. Sadly, the newest Mac versions seem broken.īasically, I started with 5.0, on a quad core 2.8ghz 2014 MacBook Pro with 16GB ram and Nvidia 750m, running on Sierra 10.12.6. as I have over 100 beautiful original gamecube original mint games (that I will never ever part with/sell) that I am loving playing in HD. 5) Posts that can be answered by reading the sidebar/Getting Started post may be locked and/or removed.Hi there, lurker for a while and user of dolphin only for the last year.
